Choosing the right photographer for your upcoming portrait session is an important decision. I want to work with those who value the art of photography and mesh well with my style and approach.

The best way I can describe the look of my photos is “cinematic”. I actually have a degree in Critical Film and Television Studies, so this is my way of putting my educational background to work. Movies, especially movies shot on actual film, are main inspiration when it comes to my visual style.

Wes Anderson’s films are a big source of inspiration. His style is a starting point, and then I go off in my own direction from there. I also have a little David Lynch as John Ford in The Fabelmans on my shoulder to “remind” me the horizon being in the middle of the frame is boring.

I love making my photos look like stills from a movie, and I’ll even ask you what your favorite movies are to get visual style ideas for your portrait session. You’ll see lots of variations in colors and tones in my photos because each celebration is different.

As we approach the day of your session, I’ll work with you to put together a timeline, get your creative input, and figure out the best stylistic choices for the shoot. This is your portrait session, and I want as much input as you want to provide!

When you inquire about a portrait session, I'll also ask you what time you'd like to do the shoot. I photograph portrait sessions in the early morning (At or just after sunrise) or in the afternoon/evening (Think closer to sunset).

Do also note that I limit myself to two portrait sessions a day to ensure everyone who books with me gets the proper attention they deserve.

  • A special feature I offer for all portrait sessions is that I give multiple versions of each photo that makes the final cut.

That means everyone gets a true to color version, which is what I’m seeing out of the camera, and then two different cinematically inspired color versions on each photo. Those versions are what you see on this page and throughout my website. Everyone also gets a version of their photos in black and white.

I offer this so you can get a true to color version of your photos while also not being forced to select just one visual style. If you like a light and bright style AND a dark and moody style or a dreamy and cinematic style, you are going to get those multiple looks.

I’m also happy to shoot at least one roll of film during all my portrait sessions. This is in addition to all the photos I shoot digitally, and it is just one of the many ways I enjoy documenting things for you.

  • Maternity + family portrait sessions are always so beautiful to photograph, and I’d love to set one up for you!

Family and the impending growth of a family is such a happy moment to celebrate, and I want to give you beautiful photographs to help you look back on things.

Maternity sessions can be solo or with your partner. It is up to you. We’ll pick a beautiful location that’s accommodating and comfortable.

Family sessions can be with just the immediate family or as many as you'd like to add!

  • Whether it’s you and your special someone for a couples + engagement session, a group of friends, or just you by yourself in a solo session, I’d love to set up a shoot for you!

We can shoot wherever you want. A rustic and rural setting, an urban cityscape, or anything in between. I’d love to make your dreams a reality!

These sessions are all based on your input and what you have in mind. I want to know what you’re thinking so I can best match that for you.

  • Everyone should go on an adventure in their lives, and everyone should have some great photos to document that occasion!

Whether it's a couples + engagement session, family session, self-love session, or anything in between, I'd love to be your photographer!

That is why it's my pleasure to offer adventurous lifestyle portrait photography sessions for couples and families who want to have photos from their travels to beautiful locations all over the United States!

Because these sessions require a bit more planning and prep work, they do cost more than a normal session, but the expense is well worth the memories you'll have once the adventure is complete!
